Carol Best, DVM

Dr. Carol Best, owner, graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1987. She went to work as a veterinarian at Valley Glen Veterinary Hospital, and moved to her current location in 2002. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Association of Avian Veterinarians.

In grade school she decided to become a veterinarian and has never regretted her career choice. She loves the challenge of trying to figure out what is going on with pets and to try to use the least traumatic methods possible for restraint and examination of dogs, cats and especially birds. She has raised orphaned rabbits, squirrels and birds and have treated and released or sent on to rehab, injured wildlife.

She became interested in parrots when in college and today raises African Greys, Congo's and Timneh's . She is a member of the Companion Dog School, an obedience/agility club.

She currently has a Doberman pinscher, Annie, a house cat, Captain Jack Sparrow, and a number of African Grey Parrots. She has trained and shown her dogs in obedience and agility. She has an Arabian-Quarter horse, Cricket (affectionately called The Tank) a variety of chickens and peafowl.

When she isn’t seeing your pet, you may find her enjoying dancing as she is also passionate about Country and Western, Ballroom, West Coast Swing and Salsa dancing. She enjoys jogging with her dogs and being as healthy as possible with her work out
